About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Doctor to join our Haematology department at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to manage patients with haematological disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously as a Specialty Doctor, providing clinical care to patients with haematological malignancies and general haematology.
  • Support outpatient clinics, day case units, and inpatient services, ensuring the safe treatment, referral, and discharge of patients.
  • Participate in weekly educational sessions, mortality and morbidity meetings, and contribute to the integrated Haemato-oncology Clinical MDT.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to support the management of patients with haematological disorders, particularly haemato-oncology care.
  • Ensure high standards of documentation, maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date information regarding patient care.
Requirements
  • Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.
  • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
  • Medical Degree from a recognised University.
  • A minimum of 4 years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent experience and competencies.
  • Experience in the management of patients with haematological malignancies and general haematology.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance processes and functions.
  • Ability to work in a team, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively and appropriately with patients, carers, and other health professionals.
