Material Requirements Planning Controller

Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Material Requirements Planning (MRP) Controller to join their team in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing production planning and inventory control through the effective use of MRP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Analyse and resolve MRP exceptions to maintain optimal inventory levels
  2. Monitor MRP system performance and identify areas of improvement
  3. Execute MRP processes to generate purchase orders and production orders
  4. Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) in line with sales forecasts and demand
  5. Coordinate with sales, production, and supply chain teams to ensure the MPS is achievable
  6. Predict future customer demand for products
  7. Collect and analyse data to create accurate forecasts
  8. Generate reports on inventory levels, production/warehouse performance, and supply chain metrics
  9. Work closely with suppliers
  10. Provide firm & forecast requirement windows to supply chain
  11. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
  12. Maintain and update MRP system data, including item master, bill of materials, and routings

Requirements:

  1. Computer literacy
  2. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
  3. Good communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Experience in manufacturing or supply chain management preferred
  5. Strong understanding of MRP principles and concepts
  6. Proficiency in MRP software
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
