Job Opportunity: Specialist Clinical Pharmacist - Cardiovascular and Thoracic

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced clinical pharmacist to join our team at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust. As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist - Cardiovascular and Thoracic, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our cardiovascular and thoracic care services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist pharmaceutical review of medication for cardiology, cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to advise on medication for CV&T patients and optimize their care.
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs for healthcare professionals working within CV&T.
  • Contribute to department-wide audit, research, risk management, and clinical governance initiatives.
  • Develop guidelines to ensure safe prescribing practice and optimize medication for heart failure patients.
Requirements:
  • A pharmacist with experience of cardiac patients and a strong understanding of cardiovascular and thoracic care.
  • Independent prescribing qualification or willingness to train.
  • Postgraduate study in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • GPhC registration
