Job Title: Clinical Pharmacist Specialist in Cardiology
About the Role:

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking an exceptional Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our Cardiovascular and Thoracic (CV&T) Care Group. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and forward-thinking Clinical Pharmacist to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with clinicians and healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist pharmaceutical review of medication for cardiology, cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients.
  • Work with the multidisciplinary team to advise on medication for CV&T patients to optimize their care.
  • Deliver education and training to a wide range of healthcare professionals working within CV&T.
  • Contribute to department-wide audit, research, risk management, and clinical governance.
Person Specification:

We are looking for a pharmacist with experience of working with cardiac patients, ideally with an independent prescribing qualification. A postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience is also desirable.
