Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Minor Illness Practitioner to join our clinical team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a GP or other clinical setting, with a strong aptitude for working within a primary care team.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assess and triage patients, including same-day triage via phone and in-person
  • Manage a patient list each day, prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely care
  • Cover triage duties on designated days, providing support to the team
  • Provide treatment, including prescribing medications and making referrals as needed
  • Manage undifferentiated undiagnosed conditions, using complex decision-making skills
  • Identify red flags and underlying serious pathology, taking appropriate action
  • Work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities
  • Advise patients on general healthcare and promote self-management

Requirements

  • Experience working in a GP or other clinical setting, with a strong aptitude for working within a primary care team
  • Ability to perform investigatory procedures, collect pathological specimens, and interpret ECGs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues
  • Relevant qualifications, as determined by the ARRS criteria
