About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our team at Lymington Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical opinion and take full responsibility for the care of patients with a wide range of problems within General Internal Medicine and Geriatric medicine.
  • Work closely with colleagues in primary, secondary, and intermediate care to develop and implement proactive community services for older people living with frailty.
  • Contribute to the development of admission prevention strategies, virtual wards, and advance care planning initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality medical and nursing care to older patients who require high-quality care but not intensive medical intervention or referral to more specialist services.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council GMC with licence to practice
  • Entry on Specialist Register in Geriatric medicine
  • Holder of Certificate of Completion of Training CCT in Geriatric medicine or within 12 months of award of CCT by date of interview
