About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Geriatrician to join our team at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Geriatrician, you will play a key role in providing high-quality medical care to older patients who require complex and specialized treatment.

Main Responsibilities

• Provide expert clinical opinion and take full responsibility for the care of patients with complex geriatric conditions.
• Work closely with colleagues in primary, secondary, and intermediate care to develop and implement proactive community services for older people living with frailty.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of admission prevention strategies, virtual wards, and advance care planning initiatives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care and improve patient outcomes.

Person Specification

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• MRCP or equivalent qualification.
• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a license to practice.
• Entry on the Specialist Register in Geriatric Medicine.
• Holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Geriatric Medicine or within 12 months of award of CCT by date of interview.
