Join Our Team as a Materials and Corrosion Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our team at Johnson Matthey, a global leader in sustainable technologies. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality materials and corrosion engineering solutions for our licensed projects and R&D initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the selection of safe and cost-effective materials of construction for allocated projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety and company reputation standards.
  • Review and advise on manufacturing procedures, including material production, welding, fabrication, and NDT techniques, to ensure compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Conduct material failure investigations and testing programs to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure the implementation of JM's health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures, maintaining a high standard of safety in all associated work.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technical developments in materials science and corrosion engineering, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our projects.
Requirements:
  • Degree or equivalent in Metallurgy/Materials Engineering.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to pressure vessel engineering, materials selection, and corrosion control.
  • Significant experience in materials selection and corrosion engineering, preferably within the chemical process industry.
  • Strong knowledge of materials properties, corrosion/damage mechanisms, and failure analysis in the chemical process industry.
