Job Objective

The Chief/Lead Marine Electricians (ETOs) on PLSVs play a crucial role in overseeing all electrical and electronic systems aboard, ensuring the highest standards of operational safety and efficiency. Reporting directly to the Chief Engineer, you will collaborate with engineering and nautical personnel to address challenges related to machinery and electro-hydraulic technology, ensuring safe operations and routine maintenance of the vessel's power, propulsion, auxiliary systems, and other electromechanical and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Become well-acquainted with machines and electrical-electronic systems to ensure swift restoration of essential services during emergencies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of company procedures, policies, and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with research initiatives as directed by senior officers.
  • Ensure accuracy in maintenance records, providing comprehensive documentation of your work on the vessel.
  • Notify the Chief Engineer regarding equipment replacements and workshop needs.
  • Stay informed about relevant codes of practice.
  • Keep the Deputy Chief and Chief Engineer updated on the progress of tasks and report any defects or issues within your area of responsibility.
  • Acquire familiarity with the electrical systems onboard, particularly the SCR system.
  • Be trained as the Person Responsible for the Permit to Work System (PTW) and isolations (Level 3).

Qualifications

You are an ideal candidate if you possess:

  • Completed training as an Electrical Technician.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in English, with conversational skills.
