Cranswick Country Foods PLC is seeking a highly skilled Process Development Specialist to join our Development Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver new product development (NPD) and enhanced product development (EPD) projects from NPD handover through to launch for the Cranswick Prepared Poultry site, ensuring products are scaled up effectively to meet customer expectations.
  • Support the planning and completion of factory trials, including feasibility and factory scale-up and validation trials, as well as packaging and new equipment trials. Order trial raw materials, capture, document, and analyze relevant trial data, and write trial reports.
  • Document and communicate changes to product formulations and processing parameters during the trialing phase.
  • Organize nutritional testing, shelf life testing, and chemical analysis to test and validate product shelf life and claims.
  • Organize and validate organoleptic shelf life testing, including customer freeze approval.
  • Organize validation of customer cooking instructions.
  • Support the launch of new products into the factory, attending pre-production and first production runs, and leading product handover meetings to ensure all teams are informed about product launches.
  • Create factory paperwork and quality assurance standards (QASs), agreeing standards with NPD/Technical and Operations teams and tolerances acceptable for consistent product replication.
  • Lead and/or attend site development and stage-and-gate meetings to ensure product details are accurately communicated to stakeholders and highlight any challenges or considerations for recipes through development trials.
  • Support the Operations team with continuous improvement projects by analyzing processes and suggesting improvements, working with Operations and Supply Chain teams to recognize opportunities, make, and implement changes, and sustain improvements.
  • Support the artwork approval process, reviewing artwork versions, and feeding back comments to Technical.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide development support.
  • Organize trial samples for dispatch and complete relevant internal and external accompanying paperwork accurately.
  • Perform other responsibilities commensurate with the post and any reasonable requests made by the Directors.
  • Maintain the Health, Safety, and Welfare of yourself and other employees in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and adhere to Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.
  • Respect and honor the sentiment of Cranswick's ethical policies and codes of conduct when interacting with colleagues.
  • Lead by example and maintain an appropriate behavioral standard.

In addition, you will undertake any training deemed necessary by the company to assist in fulfilling the above responsibilities.
