Job Title: Principal Clinical Psychologist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Children and Young People's Psychological Service (CYPPS), you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychological solutions to our service users.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high degree of professionalism, expertise, and leadership. As a Principal Clinical Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to more junior staff. You will also contribute to the broader aims of leadership activity through audit, research, consultation, and teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and supervision to junior staff
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures
  • Participate in audit and research activities to improve service delivery
  • Provide consultation and teaching to colleagues and students
  • Exercise full clinical responsibility for client care and treatment
Requirements
  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology or equivalent
  • Substantial experience of working as a qualified clinical psychologist at senior level
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups and presenting problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
