S4 Personnel Limited is representing a distinguished organization located in Slough, seeking a Risk Manager to support the establishment and upkeep of a comprehensive risk management framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring adherence to compliance standards, regulations, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and maintenance of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics.
  • Identify and report emerging risks, addressing any deviations from set risk thresholds.
  • Maintain the organization’s risk register.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, including credit, market, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Complete quarterly risk control evaluations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to follow up on action plans addressing deficiencies identified during control testing.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of primary controls executed by the business, pinpoint areas for improvement, and suggest corrective measures as necessary.
  • Keep an updated business continuity plan (BCP) and coordinate BCP testing activities.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in fraud investigations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable certifications include Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or other relevant professional qualifications.
  • Previous experience in risk management or a control function within the financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and guidance from regulatory bodies is advantageous.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a history of driving change and influencing outcomes.
