Our client, a distinguished organization situated in Slough, is seeking a Risk Manager to support the establishment and ongoing management of a comprehensive risk management framework. This role is pivotal in ensuring adherence to compliance standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the formulation and upkeep of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics.
  • Proactively identify potential risks and report any deviations from established risk thresholds.
  • Maintain the organization's risk register.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify threats and vulnerabilities, encompassing credit, market, operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Complete quarterly risk control evaluations.
  • Coordinate with various departments to follow up on action plans addressing deficiencies identified during control testing.
  • Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of first-level controls executed by the business, identifying areas for improvement and suggesting corrective measures as necessary.
  • Keep an updated business continuity plan (BCP) and manage BCP testing activities.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in fraud investigations as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • Desirable certifications include Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), or other relevant professional qualifications.
  • Previous experience in risk management or a control function within the financial services sector.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and guidance issued by regulatory bodies is advantageous.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with a history of driving change and influencing outcomes.
