About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant General Manager to join our team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). As a key member of our management structure, you will play a vital role in supporting the General Manager and leading teams to deliver high-quality services to patients, consultants, and clinical teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage teams to provide day-to-day services, including operational and financial management.
  • Lead key projects, performance, governance, business planning, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and implement service improvement plans, using recognised techniques and methodologies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and divisional teams to achieve key performance targets and improve patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Significant operational service management experience, preferably in the NHS.
  • Proven track record of achieving key performance targets and improving service delivery.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with clinical teams.
  • Intermediate data analysis skills, with advanced Excel skills and experience of using recognised data analysis tools.
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification or equivalent level of experience working at senior level, with evidence of formal management training and significant CPD in public sector or healthcare management.
