About the Role:

We are thrilled to collaborate with a prominent firm in the planning sector, seeking to enhance their accomplished team. This organization aims to diversify its project portfolio and client network, and is in search of a candidate with a proven track record and the ambition to evolve into an Equity Director in the coming years.

Client Portfolio:

The firm's current clientele includes a mix of PLC housebuilders, small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), landowners, and commercial as well as retail developers. They engage in a wide range of development management tasks and strategic representation for Local Plans.

Your Contribution:

As a key member of the Bristol team, you will work alongside fellow Directors to maintain a strong presence in the region, supported by a reputable market brand. This position is ideal for an ambitious Associate Director with a solid client base or a Director/Partner seeking a new opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish yourself as a leading figure in the South West or Welsh planning landscape.
  • Generate fees through existing relationships or new connections.
  • Drive business development by networking, expanding your client base, and exploring new opportunities.
  • Provide services to clients, whether through development management or strategic planning advisory roles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across various teams and engage with external consultants on projects.
  • Interact with Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) and external stakeholders on client projects.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the team, assisting junior members with their RTPI APCs.


Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • A loyal client following and familiarity with LPAs in the South West.
  • A minimum of eight years of experience in town planning within the UK, predominantly in consultancy.
  • Exceptional communication and writing skills.
  • A strong team player with a competitive edge.
