Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at North Yorkshire County Council. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of excellent teaching and learning in our primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences
  • Assist with the planning and preparation of lessons, including creating stimulating classroom displays and learning resources
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to pupils, promoting their interaction, communication, and educational needs
  • Accompany groups on trips and outings, ensuring the safety and well-being of all pupils
  • Contribute to the assessment and evidencing of pupil learning, helping to identify areas for improvement and celebrating successes
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
  • Ability to enhance and develop the interaction, communication, and educational needs of pupils
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish good relationships with staff, pupils, and parents
  • Ability to maintain a safe and positive environment for all learners
  • Highly passionate about supporting learning and development, with good organisational skills
