About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a SEN school in North Leeds. This full-time position involves supporting students with additional learning needs, including autism. The school caters to children and young people aged 3 to 19 years with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Engage students in learning activities tailored to their individual needs.
Build meaningful and supportive relationships with students.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Support classroom teachers in managing student behavior and promoting a positive learning environment.
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
Help students with personal care tasks, where necessary.
Foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all students.Requirements:
Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly autism.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Relevant qualifications or training in special education is desirable.Benefits:
