About the Role:

Raytheon UK is seeking a highly skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Advanced Products Business Area. This role will report to the Quality Engineer Team Lead and work closely with the Raytheon Software Engineering Department.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that Quality Management System processes and process control documentation on Software (and/or Firmware) are compliant with regulatory requirements, objectives, and/or contracts.
  2. Develop and review Software Quality Plans and reports.
  3. Conduct internal Software Quality audit activities (process & product) and accurately record and monitor Non-Conformances with RCCA.
  4. Manage and adhere to Software Certification Requirements within both Software Development & production test environments.
  5. Perform independent verification and validation of the software development lifecycle, including quality reviews at the requirements, design, code, and test phases.
  6. Review Software Design Documents, requirements analysis, and Software Requirements Specifications (SRSs).
  7. Control and monitor Bought-in Software and its implications.
  8. Approve software tool evaluations.
  9. Provide quality support to program reviews or Management Reviews.
  10. Assist Business Leads with customer liaison on external customer software audits or meetings.
  11. Manage concessions and stakeholder relationships.

Key Requirements:

  1. Develop and maintain sound, productive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  2. Experience in problem-solving and resolution, with exceptional attention to detail.
  3. Relevant years of professional experience in quality assurance.
  4. Effective communication with technical SMEs, internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels within the business.

Essential Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Internal Auditing, and RCCA methodologies and practice.
  2. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent qualification or technical experience.
  3. ISO Auditor Trained for ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100.
  4. Knowledge and experience of software standards: RTCA DO-178C or ED-109A or Def Stan 00-55.
  5. Knowledge of software coding and testing using C++, JIRA.
  6. Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  7. Experience working within a Quality Assurance team supporting one or more programs.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexible, and positive attitude, team player.

Desirable:

  1. Software Configuration Management, FCA/PCA.
  2. Experience with Git, GitHub, Bit Bucket.
  3. Knowledge of DAOS, DEF CON, RESA, AQAPs.
  4. A passion for automation.

This role will be based out of our Harlow site with possible national travel requirements.
