Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commis Chef with a strong background in pastry to join our culinary team at Grosvenor House Suites on a permanent and full-time basis. In this role, you will work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Pastry Chef, and Junior Sous Chef to achieve the highest standards of food production and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • To set up and maintain mise en place stations for various meal periods, adhering to performance standards.
  • To prepare food items according to standardized recipes and quality control guidelines.
  • To minimize waste and optimize food usage.
  • To collect food requisitions from storage and delivery areas as directed.
  • To break down mise en place stations at the end of meal periods and store food properly.
  • To assist in maximizing productivity and efficiency in the kitchen.
  • To become familiar with all sections of the kitchen and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • To ensure that operating and kitchen equipment is properly maintained and minimizes breakage.
  • To inform your superior when leaving at the end of your shift.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role with a strong background in pastry.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
