Executive Chef Assistant - Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our esteemed Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon at Fortnum & Mason. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to expand their expertise in high-end culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Team to ensure exceptional food quality and presentation in the section of responsibility.
  • Develop and mentor junior chefs to enhance their skills, leading by example and fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Regularly inspect the section to maintain high standards, ensuring all audits and temperature checks are completed.
  • Take ownership of inventory management and provide key performance indicators to the Head Chef.
  • Anticipate and address potential kitchen challenges, communicating effectively with the line manager.
  • Work closely with the Restaurant team to promote a harmonious partnership between front and back of house.
  • Effectively communicate menu information to the team, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Demonstrate exceptional planning, organization, and time management skills to drive operational excellence across the section.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, controls, and standards, including due diligence, cleanliness, and health and safety.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, reporting any discrepancies to the Senior Chefs.
  • We require the successful candidate to possess:
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef Assistant in a high-end restaurant environment.
  • A willingness to learn and grow, as well as teach and mentor junior staff.
  • A passion for culinary excellence and commitment to maintaining high food safety standards.
  • Excellent longevity with previous employers, demonstrating a strong work ethic and dedication to the industry.
