Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Join Nicholas Associates as a Manufacturing Engineer and take on a challenging role in our Liverpool-based manufacturing facility.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the development and introduction of standard operating procedures and production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and production processes to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Define requirements and create specifications for new equipment to meet production needs.
  • Ensure error proofing is effective to minimize defects and waste.
  • Integrate new equipment into production processes to optimize performance.
  • Drive standardization projects to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage and control documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assess and select equipment suppliers to ensure correct specification.
  • Assess alternative manufacturing practices to optimize space, material, and energy performance.
  • Focus on OEE improvements to maximize productivity.
  • Produce product and process reports to inform decision-making.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Excellent time management skills with a target-driven approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and within a team.
  • Ability to use problem-solving tools and work with stakeholders on solutions to problems.
  • Excellent skills in MS Office and communication to all levels of the business.
  • Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of Lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Flexible approach with excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • A relevant Engineering degree or demonstrable industrial knowledge and experience will be considered.
  • CNC Machining experience beneficial.
  • IATF Knowledge.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • An ability to work well under pressure.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Relevant technical knowledge.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Efficiency and organisation.
  • Teamworking skills.
  • Strong ability to learn.
