About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Systems Engineer to join our team at Shift F5 - Technology Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of autonomous mobility solutions for industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of control logics and algorithms for electromechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Conduct in-depth studies to assess the feasibility and performance advantages of new mechatronic systems, integrating mechanics, electronics, and control systems.
  • Perform detailed analyses to understand the requirements for converting and retrofitting vehicles, ensuring compliance with international safety and reliability standards.
  • Identify suitable hardware, sensors, and robotic systems that meet functional safety specifications and vehicle compatibility requirements.
  • Develop and implement verification and validation processes for autonomous vehicle retrofitting, installation, and commissioning.
  • Ensure that system design and integration meet international safety and reliability standards.
  • Identify areas for improvement to deliver reliable and robust integrated vehicle robotics with effective regression test cases.
  • Provide support during system integration and commissioning phases.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field of mechatronics and autonomous systems.
  • Proficiency in CAN, Ethernet, and other communication technologies.
  • Experience with controller programming languages such as structural or ladder logic.
  • Knowledge of safety analysis tools (e.g., FMEADA) and international safety standards.
  • Ability to understand electrical systems and schematics.
  • Strong English language skills (spoken and written).
  • A continuous desire to learn and improve.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with automotive systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C and C++.
  • Experience working with industrial PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).
What We Offer

This role offers a competitive salary up to £50,000 and requires candidates to work in our Uxbridge office five days a week.
