Position: Reliability & Test Methodology Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- As a Reliability and Test Methodology Engineer specializing in Powertrain, you will be tasked with developing specific design verification and validation testing methods for new electrified propulsion systems.
- Your role will involve enhancing our testing protocols, crafting efficient tests aimed at identifying specific failure mechanisms in innovative automotive technologies. You will contribute to the reliability engineering chapter strategy.
- Engage in the product design process to comprehend product features, functions, and lifecycle events, facilitating reliability assessments.
- Collaboration with a diverse range of specialists and projects is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to senior engineers.
- Conduct lifecycle assessments and provide strategic recommendations to the design team to meet lifecycle objectives.
- Develop standardized methods, training programs, and methodologies, ensuring their implementation within the organization for skill enhancement. Share insights and establish best practice guidelines.
- You will be encouraged to disseminate knowledge and possess a passion for mentoring and developing others.
- The role requires a blend of technical curiosity and practical short-term focus; the ideal candidate will strive for both personal and collective understanding while prioritizing immediate delivery goals.
- Facilitate Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) with the design team to foster robust design practices.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Essential:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- A strong background in product development with experience in component/system design and verification/validation is crucial for success in this role.
- Familiarity with quality tools, particularly Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) and Design for Reliability (DfR) methods and principles, is beneficial.
- Experience in failure mode analysis with the ability to solve problems and communicate findings effectively across various business levels.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering and statistical analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques (e.g., MS Excel, Reliasoft) is preferred.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Understanding of the design, operation, and environment of Automotive Electrification.
- Familiarity with Design for Reliability (DfR) techniques, including DFMEA, DRBFM, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
- Able to communicate effectively, work flexibly within a multidisciplinary team, and take initiative.
- Experience in AGILE methodologies.
- Willingness to travel to office locations as required.
