Job Summary:This is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Fire Extinguisher Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing fire extinguisher installations, surveys, repairs, and maintenance in compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform fire extinguisher installations, surveys, repairs, and maintenance in compliance with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Ensure that all fire extinguishers are in proper working condition, located correctly, and ready for immediate use if needed.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and efficiency in all servicing, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Proactively identify opportunities for additional maintenance work and acquiring new customers.
- Keep detailed records of all work done, including expenses, and provide reports to the office manager.
- Follow the calendar of booked appointments that may include installation, service, remedial works either independently or as part of a team.
- Complete services and other works on other fire safety systems including Fire Alarm, Emergency Lights, and Smoke Alarms either independently or as part of a team.
- Continuously seek ways to improve processes and enhance the overall quality of fire extinguisher services provided.
There are various opportunities for professional growth and development within the engineering field that can be pursued as part of the development plan associated with this role.
While it is not mandatory to explore these options, the role itself offers ample opportunities for career advancement and skill enhancement.
However, if you have a long-term interest in alternative engineering specialties, there is potential for progression into roles such as Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting.
Requirements:- Possess a valid full UK Driving Licence and proficient in navigating congested areas like London.
- Willingness to travel across the country for both local and out-of-town jobs.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong time management skills to adhere to agreed upon schedules with customers.
- Keen attention to detail to troubleshoot complex faults and determine if additional safety products and services are required.
- Prioritises customer safety and demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in accurately completing Work Report Sheets, Checklists, and Certification.
- Legally eligible to work in the UK.
- GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
This is a permanent role, preferably on a full-time basis but open to discuss flexible working options.
