Menzies Distribution is currently looking for a Financial Planning Analyst to become a vital part of our enthusiastic team. The Financial Planning & Reporting ("FPR") division collaborates closely with our various business units, fostering a genuine and proactive partnership with both our Operations and Management teams. The primary objective of the team is to deliver timely support and insightful analysis, serving as trusted advisors to enhance strategic decision-making.
In this role, you will be tasked with managing multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines while utilizing your problem-solving and judgment skills. Our FPR team excels in interpersonal relations and instinctively identifies necessary actions to rectify issues and strengthen partnerships with our business units through enhanced budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the process for executing the reporting and planning cycle, ensuring that review meetings and reports are completed on schedule.
- Assist regional operations teams with financial modeling and analysis as needed.
- Develop, monitor, and maintain essential departmental processes and procedures.
- Support routine management accounting, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other regular reporting for the business units.
- Foster internal customer relationships, primarily partnering with Operations teams.
- Maintain Excel templates utilized for reporting, planning, and modeling within the organization.
- Actively support cost-saving initiatives, ensuring that all targets are achieved through consistent communication and reporting.
- Enhance performance reporting analysis with a focus on improved visual representation.
- Complete and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Preferred entry-level experience in finance, including journal postings, understanding of purchase order processes, and analyzing month-end reports.
- Possession of a relevant finance, business, or accounting qualification, such as HNC/HND or a university degree, is ideal.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear, non-technical manner.
- Familiarity with SAP is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing business requirements.
- Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
- Well-developed communication and influencing abilities, including the capacity to challenge inputs effectively.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
