CNC Turner Job Description

Morson Talent is seeking a skilled CNC Turner to join our team in Yeovil, Somerset. This contract role is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to work with a reputable Aerospace client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture parts from start to finish using Centre Lathe Turning, adhering to Aerospace specifications.
  • Operate 2 Axis Lathes, setting and running bespoke work.
  • Ensure quality control by stamping assemblies to Honeywell and customer standards.
  • Meet on-time delivery targets by completing work efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, follow process layout, and documentation procedures.
  • Work effectively in a lean environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Engineering Apprenticeship (desirable but not essential).
  • Knowledge of machining, specifically CNC and manual turning or relative machining experience.
  • Knowledge of hand measuring equipment, such as Vernier, Micrometre, Thread, and Plug Gauges.
  • High standard of Health and Safety.
  • Adherence to Company Processes and Procedures.
  • Customer-focused environment and achieving targets.
  • Working with Designers and Engineers.
Attributes and Skills:
  • Understanding of Aerospace practice and the significance of safety-critical work.
  • PC literate.
  • Essential skills in Health and Safety standards, teamwork, flexibility, and initiative.
  • Continuous Improvement.

This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of Export Control Licenses and Technical Assistant Agreements. Mandatory requirements include Full BPSS Screening, including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, and Drugs Screening. The shift is 7am - 3:30pm.
