As a Marine Acoustic Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in our Engineering Department. We are seeking a motivated and talented individual who can build strong collaborative relationships across various technical, commercial, and operational teams. Your main focus will be to deliver acoustic modeling assistance and support the ongoing enhancement of marine acoustic technologies and mitigation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Acoustic Modeling: Utilize your expertise in Python, with a working knowledge of ML, AI, and TensorFlow, alongside MATLAB or similar software.
- Project Management: Oversee assigned projects, providing comprehensive support during operational activities.
- Training and Development: Facilitate technical training sessions for users of acoustic equipment.
- Technical Consultation: Offer guidance to departmental leaders regarding equipment and technical capabilities.
- Equipment Innovation: Contribute to the ongoing advancement of marine acoustic instruments.
- Survey Planning: Create survey designs and equipment packages for both new and existing vessels.
- Troubleshooting: Deliver local and remote technical support for field operations.
- Mobilization Coordination: Organize mobilizations, including creating plans and attending project meetings.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide insights on the capabilities of PAMS in relation to country-specific marine acoustic regulations.
- Research and Development: Assist in R&D efforts to introduce innovative products into operational settings.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company QA and HSSE protocols.
Qualifications
To excel as a Marine Acoustic Specialist, you should possess:
- A degree in a relevant field (Acoustics, Engineering, Electronics, or similar).
- Experience in acoustics or geophysical engineering, ideally with over 5 years in a senior role.
- Proficiency in acoustics software such as Python and MATLAB.
- Experience with large-scale equipment mobilizations and client interactions.
- A valid driving license.
