Job Overview

Job Summary

The Senior Care Assistant role in our Residential Homes is a leadership position that plays a crucial part in the daily operations of the Home. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will work closely with the care team to lead on shifts and manage medication, providing high-quality care and support to our residents in a warm and safe environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and support to residents with activities of daily living, including personal care and mobility in accordance with individual care plans and resident preferences.

  • Observe and monitor the wellbeing of residents, ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.

  • Monitor and allocate the work for care assistants.

  • Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with residents, colleagues and visitors, responding promptly and courteously to requests and enquiries.

  • Responsibility for the administration and management of medication, medication audits and storage in line with regulatory requirements.

  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
