Job Overview

The role of Senior Contract Surveyor at Bruton Knowles involves delivering high-quality services to Transport and Utility clients, focusing on Compensation and Compulsory Purchase work. This includes managing projects for Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects, as well as other major and minor gas, water, electricity, road, and rail jobs. The successful candidate will ensure appropriate fee income for the business and develop work from new and existing sector client contacts.


Main Responsibilities
  1. Fee Generation - Maximise fee income through effective project management and client relationships.
  2. Client Relationship Management - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to drive business growth.
  3. Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
  4. Manage team utilisation to optimise productivity and profitability.
  5. Maximise efficiency and optimise profitability of work.
  6. Deliver agreed budgets and targets.
  7. Provide exceptional client service while maintaining job profitability.
  8. Negotiate compensation in accordance with client instructions.
  9. Procure new work instructions wherever possible.
  10. Assist in delivering agreed budgets and manage own performance.
  11. Attend training sessions and team meetings.
  12. Provide support to other offices as directed.
  13. Provide CPO and compensation advice within BK.
Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the market sector and be at a senior level, with a formal qualification to degree level accredited by the RICS and qualified as a Member of the RICS.

  10. Good working knowledge of IT, particularly Microsoft Office packages.
  11. Familiarity with keyboard skills.
  12. Fully qualified driving licence.
