Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contract Surveyor to join our team at Bruton Knowles. As a key member of our Compensation and Compulsory Purchase team, you will be responsible for delivering contract work to Transport and Utility clients in a reliable and cost-efficient manner.

Your primary focus will be on undertaking Compensation and Compulsory Purchase work, including Nationally Significant Infrastructure projects, as well as other major and minor gas, water, electricity, road, and rail jobs. You will ensure that our clients receive appropriate fee income while maintaining a high level of service delivery.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Fee Earner - Maximise fee income through effective project management and client relationship building.
  2. Client Manager - Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure successful project delivery and repeat business.
  3. Ensure the delivery of high-quality services to clients, meeting agreed budgets and targets.
  4. Manage the utilisation of time for the team's benefit, maximising efficiency and optimising profitability.
  5. Negotiate compensation in accordance with client instructions, ensuring fair and reasonable outcomes.
  6. Procure new work instructions wherever possible, expanding our client base and revenue streams.
  7. Assist in the delivery of agreed budgets and be responsible for managing your own performance, exceeding in core technical skills.
  8. Attend training sessions and team meetings to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  9. Provide support to other offices as directed, contributing to the growth and success of Bruton Knowles.
  10. Undertake CPO and compensation advice within the company, providing expert guidance to clients and colleagues.
Person Specification

We are looking for a self-starter with good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients. You should have a high level of attention to detail, be able to manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a formal qualification to degree level, accredited by the RICS, and be qualified as a Member of the RICS. You should be willing to learn new skills and working methods, be adaptable to change, and have a proactive approach to work.

A good working knowledge of IT is essential, particularly Microsoft Office packages, and a full driving licence is required for this role.
