About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vascular Access Nurse Specialist to join our team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our specialist team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality vascular access services to patients across the trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vascular access services to patients, promoting high standards of care and utilizing specialist knowledge and skills.
  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure effective patient care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure safe and effective vascular access practices.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care and promote best practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of education and training programs for staff.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and experiences.
Requirements
  • Registered nurse with a degree-level qualification and experience in vascular access.
  • Competent in cannulation and experienced in CVADs.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Experience in leading a team and managing staff.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Teaching qualification or experience.
  • IMER trained.
  • CXR interpretation.
  • PICC insertion experience.
  • Vascular ultrasound experience.
