About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled HVDC Engineer to join our team at the Women's Engineering Society. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy transmission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. HVDC Technology Expertise: Conduct in-depth analysis and simulations to investigate the performance of HVDC technologies, including real-world schemes connecting to the grid.
  2. Project Leadership: Lead the delivery of projects for our stakeholders, effectively communicating findings through technical reports, publications, and engaging presentations.
  3. Business Development: Enhance our reputation for excellence by assisting in the maintenance and hosting of HVDC replicas and other hardware in our state-of-the-art simulation and test facilities.
  4. Industry Engagement: Engage with industry groups and innovation projects to contribute to the development of HVDC technology.

Requirements:

  1. Power System Analysis: Proven experience in power system analysis and its applications, particularly in EMT studies or real-time simulation.
  2. Network Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of the electricity transmission network, with a focus on HVDC or FACTS.
  3. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify key issues in engineering problems and propose effective solutions.
