About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Specialist to join our team at LTF Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our pastoral support team, you will play a vital role in promoting student wellbeing and supporting young people through their school journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, helping them manage personal and academic challenges
  • Work closely with the pastoral team and other school staff to promote student wellbeing and create a positive school environment
  • Address behavioural issues with compassion and firmness, ensuring students feel supported and valued
  • Foster positive relationships with students and their families, maintaining open lines of communication and collaboration
  • Monitor and support students' attendance, punctuality, and academic progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies for success
  • Assist with any safeguarding concerns, adhering to school policies and procedures to ensure a safe and secure environment for all students
  • Be a visible presence around the school, particularly during key times like breaks and transitions, to support student welfare and provide a sense of security and stability
Essential Criteria
  • Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a pastoral or student support role
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • A caring, empathetic approach, with the ability to manage sensitive situations and build trust with students and families
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dedicated pastoral team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment
  • A genuine passion for student wellbeing and creating a positive school environment, with a commitment to making a difference in young people's lives
