Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures specific to the site.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with UK Health and Safety regulations and CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations.
- Manage and coordinate health and safety activities across various contractors, ensuring all are aligned with Mecalux and client expectations.
- Deliver safety inductions, tool box talks, and ongoing training to site personnel.
- Investigate and report on accidents, incidents, and near misses, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Liaise with the principal contractor, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and effective health and safety management.
- Ensure proper documentation of risk assessments, method statements, and other safety-related documents.
- Implement emergency procedures and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with working at height regulations and other high-risk activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NEBOSH Certificate in Construction UK (or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS card.
- Extensive knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations, CDM regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience in managing health and safety on construction sites, particularly in high-risk environments.
- Experience in installation of automated warehouse systems, including cranes and conveyors, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
