Job Title: Head of HSE

Join The Health and Safety Partnership Limited as we seek an experienced Head of HSE to lead our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team. As a key member of our senior management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and quality across our operations.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our HSE team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in health and safety, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining effective HSE management systems. You will be responsible for developing and implementing our HSE strategy, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards, and driving a culture of safety and quality throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement our HSE strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  2. Lead the HSE team in the development and maintenance of HSE management systems, including risk assessments, method statements, and safety procedures.
  3. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with HSE legislation and industry standards.
  4. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, implementing corrective actions and reporting to senior management.
  5. Design and deliver HSE-related training to staff at all levels, ensuring a strong safety culture is embedded within the organization.
  6. Collaborate with the SHEQ Director to design and execute an innovative HSE strategy that meets evolving business and regulatory needs.
  7. Ensure full compliance with ISO 45001 standards and drive continuous improvement through the implementation of management systems.
Requirements
  1. Chartered Member Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) or equivalent.
  2. National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH) or equivalent.
  3. Level 4 Environmental Sustainability Skills for Managers (IEMA) desirable but not essential.
  4. Significant experience working across a variety of utility and construction projects.
  5. Proven ability to lead teams, work cross-functionally with various departments, and manage processes across multiple projects.
  6. Demonstrable experience in developing safety procedures and managing compliance with health and safety legislation.
  7. Knowledge and understanding of Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM).
