About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Director to join our team at Public Practice Recruitment Ltd, a leading accountancy recruitment agency in the UK. As an Audit Director, you will be responsible for leading high-performing teams and providing business and compliance advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audits, financial reporting, and internal control reviews for clients across various sectors, including real estate, utilities, and consumer markets
  • Develop audit scope and plans, working closely with internal auditors and other specialists
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and development of juniors, ensuring the continued growth of the audit team
  • Drive business development through strategic growth initiatives, preparing business proposals, and pitching to potential clients
  • Represent the firm at audit committees, shareholder meetings, and AGMs
  • Lead a team of audit and assurance staff, managing resource allocation, compliance, and performance
  • Ensure billing completeness, statutory deadline adherence, and the correct application of accounting standards
  • Support financial metrics for client wins, RPH, and overrun recoveries

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of UK and US GAAP, IFRS, and audit standards
  • A hands-on management approach with the ability to lead and inspire a team of audit professionals
  • Experience building teams, developing strategies, and driving business development initiatives
  • Expertise in advising clients on complex issues, including mergers, acquisitions, and due diligence
  • A proactive approach to resource allocation, quality control, and compliance management
