About the Role

As an Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with our customers in the Midlands region. You will work closely with our sales team to develop and execute sales strategies, manage customer interactions, and maintain accurate records of sales pipeline and CRM data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Interaction: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, taking ownership of customer interactions and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with our comprehensive range of Control & Automation solutions and work closely with our sales team to ensure technical knowledge of all product lines.
  • Pre-Qualification: Pre-qualify requests for quotations with calls where appropriate, ensuring accurate and timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth and meet sales targets, working closely with our sales team to identify opportunities and develop solutions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales pipeline and CRM data, ensuring timely follow-up and updates.
  • Cold Calling: Comfortably call non-buying, turned down, and new customers to arrange initial meetings and develop new business opportunities.
  • Account Management: Take ownership of assigned accounts, monitoring quotes, orders, and delivery issues, and visiting customers regularly to stay informed about their business.
Requirements
  • Education: HNC/HND or higher in electrical or control engineering (not essential)
  • Pressure Management: Ability to work well under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Personality: Friendly, approachable, and enjoys speaking to people on the phone, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Time Management: Excellent time management skills and the ability to regulate time under stressful conditions.
  • IT Skills: Proficiency in IT, especially with Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
