Summary of Role:


An exciting opportunity awaits to be part of the acclaimed Nidec Drives Drive Centre Sales Team in the UK.


The role will be working within the Area Sales Manager team, assisting growth as and where needed. The job holder will be responsible for implementing successful strategies and tactics to support the ASM’s and our vision to become number one in the UK & Ireland in variable speed by providing technically and commercially competitive products, together with services that add value for our customers.




Key Job Responsibilities:


This is a challenging and exciting opportunity with the main purpose of supporting the Area Sales Manager to deliver agreed revenue and margin targets.


  • To be successful in this role, you will be responsible for a small number of accounts with an agreed revenue/margin target which, collectively, will aggregate into the Area Sales numbers.
  • You will Identify new business opportunities within the sales territory, using existing databases and develop a sales plan in conjunction with the Area Sales Manager.
  • You will be required to develop, implement, and update as necessary a customer-centric business action plans
  • You will aim to grow sales in a given area to assist in delivering revenue budgets in consultation with the appropriate Area Sales Manager.
  • You will be responsible for liaising with colleagues in Business Development, Inside Sales and Applications to maximize opportunities and improve customer satisfaction/retention.
  • You will contribute to the design, production and effective delivery of high-quality sales presentations and proposals from engineering to board level for prospective customers under agreed guidelines.
  • You will provide and distribute approved marketing materials with the aim of securing sales visits.
  • To be successful in this role you will ensure all appointments and proposals illustrate Nidec in a highly professional yet competitive light, with the end goal of securing the prospective business at an acceptably profitable price
  • Ensure you work with existing customers to maximize business opportunities and maintain the sales pipeline and forecasting tool, whilst keeping the CRM and other reporting requirements updated.
  • You will build, utilize and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders within the business to continuously improve your understanding and knowledge of the solution offerings.


Overall ensuring that all sales activity is conducted under Nidec business ethics and trade compliance rules.



Travel Requirements


  • Regular travel within the UK – primarily within sales territory
  • Infrequent travel within EMEA region - for meetings/training



Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • Professional qualification in Electrical, Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong commercial background in selling industrial products
  • Strong technical background.
  • Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs)
  • Detailed understanding of the design process.
  • New business development experience
  • Strong knowledge of the company’s products and applications.
  • Customer Satisfaction Focused
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Highly motivated to succeed in a demanding and challenging role
