About the Position

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs in line with established engineering standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Adhere to relevant standard operating procedures.
  • Continuously develop and maintain technical skills as required.
  • Work a flexible shift pattern of 5 days out of 7.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is £18.00, with overtime compensated at time and a quarter. Additionally, if you possess a PCV license, you will receive an extra 20p per hour from the start. We also offer further training opportunities that can increase your salary by up to £5,000 after completing 10 training modules, with each module raising your hourly wage by 20p.

Working Hours

39 hours per week, on a rotating schedule of 5 days out of 7.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in mechanics, with proven experience in bus & coach, HGV/LGV, or automotive garages.
  • The ability to multi-skill within an engineering environment.
  • A flexible approach to working hours.
  • A willingness to mentor and develop others within the engineering team.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and supervisors.
  • A PCV license is desirable; however, the ability to obtain one is essential.
