About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Firstbus. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of our fleet of buses and coaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle faults in accordance with Firstbus Standard Engineering Operating Procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and group policies
  • Maintain and develop technical skills as required
  • Work a 5-day out of 7 rota, with opportunities for overtime
Requirements
  • A minimum Level 3 NVQ standard of equivalent in mechanics, and proven work experience in bus and coach, HGV/LGV, cars or van garages
  • Ability to multi-skill within an engineering environment
  • Flexible approach to working hours
  • Aptitude to develop others within the engineering team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors
  • Desirable: PCV licence, ability to obtain PCV licence essential
