Job Title: Support Worker - Runcorn Specialist Provision

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at Runcorn Specialist Provision. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to children and young adults with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Run small group work activities, tailored to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Support students with additional needs, including those with challenging behavior.
  • Provide personal care and support as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working within a school setting, preferably in a specialist provision.
  • Prior or current experience supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Ability to work as part of a team, under the direction of the class teacher.
  • Confidence in supporting students with additional needs.
  • Resilience, positivity, and flexibility.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Team Teach training.
  • Experience with Makaton and PECs.
  • Experience working with challenging behavior.
