About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Officer to join our team at Hays Construction and Property. As a Contract Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective management of contracts related to property maintenance, repairs, and refurbishments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Senior Surveyors to provide contract management advice and contractor performance updates.
  • Analyse and become familiar with current contractor JCT contracts and advise on the correct processes and procedures.
  • Support the operations team with contract administration, including attending contract pre-commencement and progress meetings as required.
  • Prepare and send enquiries to contractors, inviting them to quote, and analyse quotes to make recommendations.
  • Cooperate with colleagues to consistently deliver projects on time and within agreed budgets.
Requirements
  • Experience of different forms of building contract and ability to advise on what contracts to choose for particular projects.
  • Knowledge of WHQS standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective vendor and stakeholder interaction.
  • Attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
