About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pensions Actuarial Consultant to join our team at Mercer (UK) Limited. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide clients with expert advice on funding, investment, risk transfer, and covenant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver customized advice and solutions to clients, with a primary focus on DB pension schemes.
  • Lead on the preparation and delivery of day-to-day and strategic advice, finding tailored solutions that meet clients' needs.
  • Lead client meetings and presentations, providing an informed view on current topics based on client circumstances.
  • Utilize strong technical actuarial skills to consult with clients and communicate effectively.
  • Act as final technical reviewer for actuarial calculations and agree the strategy, direction, and resourcing for client work.
  • Perform supervision, appraisals, and mentorship for employees under supervision.
  • Act as day-to-day contact for clients, ensuring problem resolution and participating in new business prospect activity.
  • Provide guidance to and peer review the work of colleagues.
Requirements
  • Fully qualified Actuary or nearing qualification.
  • Awareness of current pension issues and ability to tailor responses to specific circumstances.
  • Excellent communication skills, strong analytical, numerical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and distribute work to junior colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of UK pension schemes and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
