Located within the beautifully restored Grade 1 Georgian Sherborne House, The Sherborne offers a multifunctional art gallery and studio space, a state-of-the-art Pavilion for events, performances, and film, a restaurant, bar, shop, workspace, and a sculpture garden in a natural amphitheatre.

We are planning to add a community and educational facility to our premises.

Job Description

The Sherborne seeks a Chief Executive with extensive strategic leadership experience in arts or not-for-profit organisations, possessing deep knowledge in planning, business development, financial management, and team building.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for art, proven success in fundraising and financial growth, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to serve as a key ambassador while leveraging social media and digital technology to promote The Sherborne's vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and financial sustainability
  • Lead a team of professionals in the arts and cultural sector
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including artists, donors, and partners
  • Oversee the development and implementation of educational programs and community outreach initiatives
  • Manage the financial planning and budgeting process to ensure the organization's financial stability
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and management experience in the arts or not-for-profit sector, with a proven ability to drive business growth and financial sustainability.

They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

A passion for art and a commitment to the organization's mission and values are essential.
