About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Technologist to join our Research and Development team in Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing new food products and processes that meet our high standards of quality and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute research programs to improve existing products and ingredients, and to study the potential of new products and ingredients.
  • Reformulate existing products to enhance performance and quality, and to develop process solutions that meet external guidelines.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, universities, and industry experts to transfer innovative technologies into our process, development, and site teams.
  • Build key relationships within our Greggs network and with external partners to drive innovation and growth.
  • Report, analyze, and present findings in a well-documented and scientific manner.
Requirements
  • Relevant food degree and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the food industry.
  • R&D experience and scientific background.
  • Curiosity, experimentation, and hands-on product development and process experience.
