Job Summary

The Law Firm Group is seeking an experienced and dynamic Litigation Solicitor to lead our Litigation Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of solicitors and legal support staff, overseeing complex litigation cases, and providing strategic legal advice.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation Management

  • Oversee the preparation and filing of legal documents, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct initial case investigations, including interviewing clients and witnesses, reviewing documents, and assessing the merits of cases.
  • Develop and implement litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients, leveraging expertise in commercial disputes, property disputes, employment disputes, and other areas.
  • Manage pre-trial activities, including settlement negotiations, and coordinate with external counsel and experts as needed.

Department Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of solicitors, paralegals, and support staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes high standards of legal practice.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide professional development opportunities for team members, ensuring their growth and success.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with legal standards.

Strategic Planning and Business Development

  • Contribute to the firm's strategic planning and business development initiatives, identifying opportunities for growth within the litigation practice area.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions, promoting the firm's expertise and reputation.

Legal Advisory and Compliance

  • Provide expert legal advice on a wide range of litigation matters, staying updated on legal developments and trends to provide informed advice and anticipate potential legal issues.
  • Ensure the department's compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards, maintaining the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor with a valid practicing certificate in England, with a strong understanding of civil litigation processes and procedures.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in litigation, with a proven track record of handling complex cases and a strong business acumen.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial role within a legal department, with excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional results.

Desired Skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in legal research and use of Practical Law, with a strong understanding of the financial aspects of running a legal department.
  • Experience in business development and client relationship management, with a strong ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £45,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
