We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Central London Community Health Trust. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide a comprehensive Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapy service to children with complex communication needs and eating and drinking difficulties.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and treat own caseload of patients/clients and maintain professional documentation.
- Work within professional standards and clinical guidelines, promoting best practice and undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
- Build up and maintain key relationships with referring services to facilitate appropriate referrals and an understanding of the role of the Speech & Language Therapist and the Multi-professional team.
- Supervise junior staff, including Speech & Language Therapists, Assistants, and Speech & Language Therapy students.
- Work in a variety of settings in the community to deliver appropriate treatment, including community clinics, clients' own homes, schools, and nurseries.
- Support self and service development through active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and participating in any audit or research being undertaken by the service.
- Recognised SLT degree or equivalent.
- Current AHP with UK HCPC registration.
- Member of a relevant Clinical Excellence Network.
- Evidence of competence in managing complex dysphagic patients, including those requiring enteral feeding.
- A comprehensive induction into the community service, followed by a local induction to introduce you to the role.
