We are seeking a Lead Structural Design Engineer to enhance our operations.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that structural engineering tasks are executed in alignment with our comprehensive delivery framework. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Structural Designer in estimating, preparing design outputs, managing project timelines, and maintaining technical excellence for your designated team or project portfolio. You will report directly to the Senior Structural Designer. This role is vital to our ambition of becoming a leading EPC contractor in the sector.

Key Responsibilities in Structural Design:

  • Supervise and mentor structural design engineers.
  • Generate structural outputs adhering to industry regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Evaluate and endorse structural outputs to ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Prepare and assess materials take-offs and bills of materials.
  • Conduct offshore assessments and compile survey documentation.
  • Assist in estimating Contract Technical Requirements (CTR).
  • Provide technical insights during detailed engineering phases as necessary.
  • Support the project lead with tracking progress, organizing timesheets, and general project administration.
  • Assist the project lead in estimating and defining work scopes.
  • Foster the development of structural engineers within the team.
  • Establish effective communication and relationships with engineers, other discipline leads, management, and clients.
  • Contribute to monitoring and updating project schedules, providing progress reports for assigned scopes.
  • Participate in enhancing the overall technical capabilities and infrastructure of the department.
  • Contribute to training and supporting the company's trainee development initiatives.

Qualifications and Desired Attributes:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical sector with an ONC in engineering (or equivalent) OR 8 years of experience in the Oil & Gas/Petrochemical sector with an HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D & 3D and ReCap software.
  • Experience in producing and reviewing engineering design outputs.
  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.
  • Highly driven, self-sufficient, and an excellent team collaborator.
  • Preferably certified in essential offshore safety requirements (Survival, Medical, MIST, EBS, etc.).
