About the Department

The Quality Assurance department at Coty is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our products. Our team is organized into three key areas:

  1. Quality Assurance: This team is responsible for developing and implementing quality control procedures and standards to ensure that all products meet our quality specifications.
  2. Finished Goods, Components, and Microbiology: This team is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our finished goods, components, and microbiological testing.
  3. Chemistry: This team is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of our chemical products and processes.

As a member of our Quality Assurance team, you will work closely with other departments, including production, planning, and research and development, to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

The Role

The Quality Director is responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control functions at our manufacturing site. This includes ensuring that our factory delivers high-quality products that meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Director will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage the quality team, and collaborate with other departments to enhance overall product quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards to ensure that all products meet our quality specifications.
  2. Oversee the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards.
  3. Ensure compliance with all local, national, and international regulations related to cosmetic manufacturing.
  4. Investigate consumer complaints and provide feedback to consumer affairs and implement improvement actions to improve this result.
  5. Assess and resolve supply quality issues.
  6. Develop and deploy a program and associated action plans to improve process mastery and repeatability and to reduce non-quality costs of the factory.
  7. Ensure a strong partnership with other functions for delivery of factory's key results.
  8. Manage change within the manufacturing site from a quality perspective.
  9. Define project charters, clear success criteria, planning, and deliver the objective in a timely and quality manner.
Key Interfaces

The Quality Director will work closely with the following departments:

  6. Marketing
  7. Procurement
Essential Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  1. A chemistry master's degree or equivalent.
  2. At least 5 years of site-based quality leadership experience within the cosmetics, consumer goods, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
  3. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations, including ISO 22716.
  4. Familiarity with statistical sampling rules (ISO 2859).
  5. Strong capabilities in root cause problem-solving, process control techniques, and change management monitoring.
  6. Knowledge of bulk making, production packing processes, and filling techniques.
  7. Knowledge and experience of R&D or industrialization of new products.
