As a vital member of our consulting team, you will provide expert guidance to prominent clients in the Defence & Security sector. You will enhance your industry expertise while focusing on operational transformation. Leveraging our extensive technical and sector knowledge, we assist clients in refining their core operations, preparing for expansion, managing budget constraints, embracing digital advancements, and maximizing operational effectiveness.

In this role, you will act as a catalyst for change, significantly improving project delivery speed and quality. Early in your career, you will be entrusted with greater responsibilities, allowing you to develop your project and budget management capabilities. Creativity in crafting client solutions is highly encouraged. Our focus encompasses the entire spectrum of operations transformation, from designing effective operating models to executing transformative initiatives, including process re-engineering and enhancing operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

As an Operations Transformation Consultant, your duties will include:

  • Assisting clients in resolving intricate challenges through comprehensive analysis, actionable recommendations, and a blend of experience, industry insight, tools, and technology.
  • Collaborating with various stakeholders, both within the organization and in client settings.
  • Overseeing the delivery of work packages, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Supervising a small team of junior members (approximately 1-3).
  • Identifying and escalating potential risks and issues.
  • Contributing to business development and practice management initiatives alongside senior team members.
  • Engaging in internal practice development by participating in methodology and proposition development, and supporting knowledge sharing.

Essential Qualifications

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing operating models, service design, and/or digital transformation solutions within the UK Public Sector, utilizing both traditional and agile methodologies.
  • Prior experience in a consulting environment in a client-facing capacity.
  • Familiarity with the challenges faced in the Defence & Security sector and a keen interest in innovative governmental strategies.
  • Understanding of current trends influencing the business landscape: digital transformation, automation, robotics, and advanced analytics.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to create detailed project plans and meet strict deadlines.
  • A commitment to making a positive societal impact through logical problem-solving and innovative thinking.
  • Capability to independently manage a workstream within a broader team project context.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous and rapidly evolving situations.
  • Strong collaborative skills to foster an inclusive environment across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships to achieve successful outcomes.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience collaborating with the Ministry of Defence, law enforcement, or other secure government sectors.
